Archery among the olive trees
An ancient gesture, a breath in nature. The archery experience at our agriturismo.
Drawing a bow, finding the silence
There is a precise moment when everything stops. The string taut between your fingers, your breathing slowing down, the target becoming the only thing in the world. Around you, nothing but the rustle of olive trees and the song of a blackbird somewhere in the branches. No notifications, no rush. Just you, the bow and a gesture humanity has been repeating for thousands of years.
At our agriturismo, archery is not a pastime. It is a different way of being in nature — with attention, with your body present, with your hands busy doing something real.
A gesture that has crossed the centuries
Archery is one of the oldest gestures we can still perform. Before it was a sport, it was a tool for survival, a ritual, a language. There is something essential about it: it demands balance between strength and control, between tension and release.
You do not need an athlete's muscles. You need one thing only: to decide to be present in that moment. Your posture aligns, your breathing finds its rhythm, and the rest of the world — for a few instants — ceases to exist.
The string taut between your fingers, your breathing slowing down, the target becoming the only thing in the world.
In the woodland, among the olive trees
The experience takes place on our land, between the woodland and the olive groves. You will walk on beaten earth, beneath silvery canopies filtering the light. You will feel the soft ground underfoot, the rough bark of centuries-old trunks beneath your fingertips.
There is no background music here. The sound is the real thing: leaves stirred by the breeze, a woodpecker in the distance, the whisper of an arrow leaving the string. It is a silence that does not unsettle you — quite the opposite, it makes you draw a longer breath than usual.
The archery range is set within this landscape. No concrete, no artificial structures. Just targets among the trees and the space to focus without distractions.
Stefano, your archer
Your guide is Stefano. He will not give you a theory lecture: he will put a bow in your hands and teach you how to use it, step by step.
It starts with a practical briefing: how to hold the bow, how to position your feet, how to aim. Concrete things, explained calmly. Then you shoot. The first arrows will go wherever they please — that is normal, it is part of the game. But by the third or fourth, you will feel something shift: your body finds its position, your hand knows what to do, and when the arrow hits the target, the satisfaction is the real kind.
Stefano follows each person with care, corrects gently, and has exactly the right patience for anyone who has never touched a bow in their life.
For everyone — children included
No previous experience required. No particular strength needed. The only prerequisite is curiosity.
For children we have a training bow, lighter and sized for smaller arms. They take part in the same experience as the adults, with the same instructions and the same range. No separate course: they shoot alongside their parents, and more often than not, they are the first to hit the target.
It is an activity that works for couples, families, groups of friends. There is no competition — or rather, only the kind that springs up naturally between one laugh and the next.
The aperitivo after the last arrow
When the arrows are spent, you do not head straight back indoors. An aperitivo awaits you in the open air, with your feet still on the earth and the sun dropping between the olive trees.
You raise a glass to your first arrows, swap stories about your best shots and the ones that sailed completely wide. This is the moment the experience comes full circle: your body relaxes, the hands that gripped the string now hold a glass, and conversation flows with that lightness that only comes after doing something together.

Why try it
Because you will go home knowing how to do something you could not do before. Because your children will talk about that afternoon for weeks. Because you will discover that standing still, in silence, focused on a single gesture, is exactly the kind of pause you needed without knowing it.
And because — let us be honest — hitting a target with an arrow gives a satisfaction that very few things in the world can match.
An ancient gesture, a breath in nature.
